John Jarrold Printing Museum

Many thanks to Flickr user Gridula for allowing these photographs that he took at the John Jarrold Printing Museum, in Norwich, Norfolk, UK to be used on Metal Type.

Says Gridula: “An absolutely stunning example of a smaller Soldan Lightning Proof Press. I didn’t even know this was in the museum so when I walked round the corner and saw this I nearly fell over.

The guys who volunteer at the museum didn’t know it was a Soldan – they just new it as “Noreen’s Press” as Noreen donated it to the museum.

Presses overview — From Gridula: “A wide selection of hand presses (Stanhope, Columbian etc), plus in the foreground the delivery end of a Heidelberg Cylinder and “Noreen’s Press”, the only other Soldan Proof Press we know of in the UK.
