  1. I worked there in the machine room from 1965 to 1975. I wish I’d taken more pictures at the time. Little did I think that my trade would become a museum exhibit in a few years.

  2. Clays were the last printing company to be sold off by St Ives plc. I worked for St Ives Plymouth for 18 years and Clays were always held up as the premier book Printers in the UK.

  3. Yes they were the UK premier book printers. Publishers like the Folio Society were regular customers. They even survived people like me working for them from 1965 to 1975! They were good times and I look back on them with great pleasure
