The question has been asked previously on these boards - would it be possible to build a brand new Linotype machine today?

On this evidence I would say the answer is definitely yes.

Take a look at this video. It is of a brand new steam locomotive, just completed this year, built to a 1930s design. It was built at a cost of 3 million UK pounds.
