I guess the British equivalent to the Saturday Evening Post would be Titbits (link to Wikipedia article), although it does seem quite down-market by comparison.

I'm guessing that the "How to Shut Up a Nagging Woman" article may have trouble getting past the PC Brigade these days!  ;)

I remember my father buying Reveille (link to Wikipedia) which described itself as a newspaper, but was incorporated into Titbits in 1979.
