Thomas De La Rue moved from Guernsey to London and eventually, in 1821 set up as a printer.

2p value - issued in 1862, Queen Victoria (Hong Kong)

4p value - issued in 1863, King Victor Emanuel III (Italy)


7½p value - issued in 1862  De La Rue supplied to the Confederate States, the only American stamp to be produced abroad: the Five Cents Blue, adorned with the head of Jefferson Davis.

Although there is no printing press on the stamp there is on the mini sheet





Two of the three stamps on bottom right of mini sheet appear in this thread - post 119 on page 8 and post 131 on page 9. The middle stamp of the three was issued on 13 August 1997 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Fabrica de Timbre (Stamp Printing Works).
