Czesław Slania, stamp engraver 

Czesław Słania was a Polish postage stamp and banknote engraver.  According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Słania was the most skilled and prolific of all stamp engravers, with over 1000 stamps to his credit.

In post number 90, on page 7 of this thread I posted six propaganda stamps issued by San Marino. Issued on 12 April 1943 - the fascist government newspaper 'Il Popolo Sammarinese' propaganda stamps. There were a further four stamps issued, showing other newspapers, which I post now.

Issued on 30 January 2025   The 500th Anniversary of the First Book Written in Estonian

2025 marked 500 years since the publication of the oldest printed word in Estonian. In 1525, a work came out of the printing press that contained text in the Estonian language. On its way to Estonia, the work was seized and burned. This book was probably a translation of Martin Luther, printed in Wittenberg, Germany. No copies of the book have survived, but researchers are fairly certain that the first known printed text in Estonian was contained within its covers.
