The Queanbeyan Hot Metal Printing Museum New South Wales

This site is worth a visit to see how a small Australian country newspaper was produced using hot metal. There are a number of web pages. Page 6 has a sub page "Jim Woods" and at the bottom of that page is URL for a short video.

The newspaper started using a Columbia hand press in September 1860. Hot metal printing ended with the retirement of Linotype machines in 1983.
