There is an English Monotype Composition Caster up for auction in Calgary, Alberta. The auction closes Tuesday, Jan 24th at 10:27 Mountain Time.

I'm not sure what condition is it in, the photos are not very good quality. It would certainly be worth stripping for parts if it were local to me, but it is half a continent away.

It does not have any gearbox or such and so it is likely only configured for composition casting (not display casting), although it does have the vari-speed drive (which by itself does not really go slow enough for display casting).

There is no sign of any mats.

There have been no bids so far. It looks like this caster is likely to go for scrap.

If anyone wants this more than I do, feel free to outbid my $5. I've seen the machine, and can report on condition.

I may want it more than you do, but not enough to put up the $$$ to have someone pack, load, and ship it here on three days' notice!

If you buy it keep us posted as to what you do with it. Maybe take a note of the serial number in case anyone ever decides to make a census of Monotypes.

I'm so glad to know it isn't being scrapped. I may also want it more than you as well, but this info came with too short of notice. A shame since Alberta is close to Arizona.

Only alphabetically, TH! I've driven in both AZ and AB and nothing is close to anything in either of these places!
