The notes show the monument to Senefelder which is located in the centre of Solnhofen. It was created in 1845 by Etienne Hippolyte Maindron (1801-1884) from Sabloniere limestone from southern France. Its original location was a Parisian salon. It was inaugurated in Solnhofen on October 9, 1904.In 1965, it was moved and a new base made of Jura marble was placed underneath, so that the total height is 3.5 m.                     



Incidentally, the best lithographic stone came from Solnhofen.

The Alembert Educational and Professional Training Centre, was located in Montévrain, Paris. Originally a penitentiary centre in 1848, then transformed into a vocational school in 1882, the Alembert school trained in the trades of printing, typography, clichés (stereomaking) among other trades
