1906 Monotype Competition

I spotted this for sale on a popular auction site recently. It's the result of an American Monotype typesetting competition from 1906.





I think this claim may be taking things a little too far:

it is safe to say that in every printery of the land, and in those of Europe as well, his name will be known, his face familiar, and his record firmly established.
