Hello,

I am looking for copies of the "Monotype Composition Caster Manual" VOL. 1 & 2.

These are the ring bound editions, where VOL. 1 is technical information, and VOL. 2 is the plates and diagrams.

P.S. if you have the "Monotype Keyboard Manual" of the same, I am also interested.

Thank you  :)

Best wishes,
Liam McLoughlin

@Dave Hughes no, these books are not in the Digital Library, and I cannot find a copy of them anywhere online.

Also, I would like to have the physical books to-hand at the caster, and that is why I would like to buy them.

Best wishes,
Liam

Hi
I have Vol. 1 and vol. 2 Composition caster manuals they are in Royal blue plastic binders and were acquired from Monotype Corp, Salfords around 1975 when I attended the Monotype training school for a 3 week operator/mechanics maintenance course.
They have been used but are complete.
I may have a keyboard manual as well but I will have to search for it. It will be an older version as the caster and keyboard I operated were C.1954 models.
How much would you be willing to pay.
I am in the UK so postage costs would need to be added.

@John Cornelisse Hi, thank you very kindly for your offer, I already own the Monotype Casting Machine Manual and I am  currently not in need of the instruction book. I really appreciate your kindness, thank you.

I am looking for VOLs 1 & 2 of the ring bound "Monotype Composition Caster Manual" to use alongside other literature, because it contains a more condensed technical overview, and to my knowledge has the best diagrams / illustrations I have seen seen in any Monotype Comp. Caster publication.

Thank you again for your offer.

Best wishes,
Liam

@Minty1310 Hi, yes please. I am very interested in the 2-Volume Composition Caster Manual.

The Monotype Keyboard Manual also, if you can find it.

You attended the Monotype School in 1975. Wow, sir you were very lucky indeed. How I wish I could have attended such a school.

These books will be of great use to me because at the age of 27, I have been studying these machines. I volunteer with the National Print Museum in Dublin, where I am a trained Monotype Keyboard operator - I am involved with restoring our composition caster along with two retired compositors. Currently our caster is producing odd / wrong characters. These books will be cherished by me, and they will be actively used at their respective machines for many years to come.

Please let me know how much you are asking for these books. As mentioned, I am based in Ireland and will pay whatever postage is necessary to get the books here.

Thank you for your reply. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,
Liam
