Impressive Burgundy, France Print Museum

Here's some great photographs taken at this print museum that used to be the home of L'Indépendant newspaper in Louhans, Burgundy France.

It would seem that when the newspaper converted to new technology they moved to new premises, leaving all the equipment in the old premises to eventually become a museum.

Thank you, Dave, for sharing my photos of this wonderful museum.

The type collection is impressive. Everything is very well maintained, and the welcome is warm and friendly.

There's a printer who occasionally comes by to do demonstrations, but unfortunately, most of the machines are no longer operational, except for a few proof presses and the Boston press.

The cylinder press appears to be in good condition, but it doesn't seem to have been used in a long time.

The Bühler rotary press (Swiss-made, from 1922) has been out of service since the print shop closed, but a similar machine is still running every week at Le Démocrate de l'Aisne (https://democrate-aisne.fr).
