This rare* type high gauge was manufactured by Mander Brothers, which was founded in 1773 in the English city of Wolverhampton. In the 19th century the firm became the top manufacturer of varnishes, paints and later printing inks in the British Empire. In the twentieth century it developed its product range in industrial coatings and inks, as well as commercial property.

* I have been collecting type high gauges for several years, and this is the only one of its kind that I've ever seen. (Perhaps they're more common in England.) I'd estimate that it was manufactured in the mid-1900s.
