Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Dave Hughes

I very nearly gave up on this film, but I'm glad I persevered.

From Haarlem, in Holand, production of a magazine. I would guess the footage dates from 1910-1920.

We see linecasters, stereo plate casting and the press.

The printing action starts about 5 minutes in.

Machine translation of the Dutch description:

QuoteA company of the printing film "The Spaarnestad", based in Haarlem. With unique images of how the "Linotype" machine and the printing presses that are made ready for a magazine to print. Further historical images of ancient Haarlem.
