For no apparent reason my computer was hanging during a credit card activation. While I was waiting I was watching the lights on the computer and the Wi-Fi modem and it reminded me of a sign in fractured German, that some wag had stuck onto a Linofilm installation that I was supervising at the Sydney Morning Herald in 1970. I could remember one line that had stuck in my mind. I entered the line into Google and sure enough I got a number of versions. Apparently it started being displayed on IBM machines back in 1955.
