The advertisement below is a facsimile of an advertisement that appeared in the University Missourian May 4 1916. This is to give vague support to my Model 16 guess.

Jeffo could very well be right. This may be a prototype for the model 16 a two magazine mixer. First shipped, as the model number suggests, in 1916. Notice on the right hand side there appears to be some welding and a small bracket and leaver. To change from one magazine to the other the operator would press a key at the right of the keyboard.

I have never seen a model 16 so I may have to stand corrected, once again.

A picture taken from the Mergenthaler archives.

The calendar's date is Friday, July 30, 1915.

What were they recording for posterity on that date?

To me, the machine looks a bit modern for that era.
