I am looking forward not only to seeing this new film (and of obtaining a copy) but making sure that it joins Linotype: The Film as part of the modern day canon of motion pictures that must be watched and enjoyed even as they show our latter day attempts to keep these beloved machines going.

Hot on the heels of Linotype: The Film, our friends at Urban Cottage Industries are working on a short, silent film that will premier next year.

Here's what Urban Cottage Industries have to say about the project:

QuoteWe are Urban Cottage Industries. We rescued the UK's largest collection of linotype machines from the scrap yard. We've since worked tirelessly to find / create a role for them in the modern world. We individually personalise moleskine notebooks, cotton paper greeting cards and other nice things. We think it's sexy enough to be worth a short silent film. The film is shot and we're busy editing it now. This is the trailer. The actual film will premier here on the last day of January 2013. See you there.

I've posted the trailer here. David Evans can be spotted on the film, wearing what looks like the sort of overall that BBC prop-men used to wear!  ;)

Only joking Dave, it looks very professional.
