Hello Stephen, thanks for getting in touch. Replacing the PDFs with searchable ones would seem a good idea, as long as there isn't a huge increase in file size. Are you familiar with FTP?

Hello Metal Type! Thank you so much to all who contributed to the Monotype Recorder library of PDFs. I have used these often in my research at Letterform Archive and Fonts In Use. I noticed that the PDFs were not searchable, however, so I ran them through Acrobat's OCR function and resaved them. I'd love to share these updated files with the Metal Type Library so you can all benefit from searchable PDFs. If you're keen, let me know where to send them.
