- December 30, 2021, 04:52:26 PMDuncan Avery was not involved with operating the machines... He was part of the board for many years. He was involved with Monotype for sure, and kept the museum running.
Garry Drayton, the last living teacher of the Monotype-School, he is still living... but as far as I know, his health is questionable. And with the corona spread... It's a dangerous world.

- December 29, 2021, 10:28:24 AMTime for my generation to take over. There's some interest among young people in learning the manual and hot metal typesetting, but it's rare. Time runs out for the old hands, so it's even more important to learn while we still can.

75 years working for the Type Archive? Isn't that a little... exaggerated? That would date back to 1947! Monophoto was not there yet, the transistor was invented, you were born, so was Paweł Tryzno, David Bowie and my father...
