Here I would like to announce our last project:

Its about the correspondence between an English publisher Antony Baker and Sem Hartz.

The last was a famous punchmaker and designer of typefaces. He worked at the Dutch typefoundry Ensched in Holland
and cooperated with people like Jan van Krimpen.

He had also his own private press. A rarety in the Holland of those days.

The correspondence gives an "other" insight in the person of Hartz and how this private press was operated.

A lot of metaltype was involved: all text -- almost 300 kilo's of lead -- was cast in composition on the Monotype compostion caster at the Enkidu Press.

Civilit is an 16th century typeface originally designed by Granjon. The first books in this face were printed in 1558.
