Council Going Mad?

While visiting York City centre this afternoon noticed these Council workmen laying some very good quality turf on top of the pavement!

I'll let you know what it was all about when more details emerge!

The "Three Cranes" public house in the backround is well worth a visit for anyone who enjoys an "Old World" atmosphere and mature patrons.

I have been informed by the York Customer Centre that it is a annual event which coincides with the summer craft fair, the turf is laid and people have tea parties on it in the city centre, after the weekend it will be lifted up and re turfed on some park or garden.
