I have extracted the following from "Milestones" a booklet that covers the various phases in the development of typesetting and typecasting machines. I have placed it here as Mergenthaler was a co-inventor. A friend posted the PDF download on Facebook.

There's another picture of a Logotype machine here on Metal Type along with pictures of some other early typesetting machines.

Probably quite a rare machine. The booklet uses the same photograph as the one on this site.
