Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Dave Hughes

Recntly came across some pics of this machine, via a link from the Letpress list.

Described only as foundry equipment. Anyone know what this machine is?

I thought at first it might be a Monotype Caster, but I'm not sure and perhaps showing my ignorance here!  :-[

I'm not expecting this to run for long, but what is this machine?

Can't believe no one's solved this yet! Is it a Monotype?

This reply received by email from Gregory Walters:

The machine is a Stephenson Blake pivotal caster. I think they were
built in-house by SB. While other typefounders did most of their
casting on machines of the Küstermann/Foucher/Barth model, SB
continued to use pivotal casters. I do not know of any other major
typecaster that stuck with pivotals.
