Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

I'm not sure of the date of this video, but I would guess it would be 1980s or 1990s. Filmed at The Crescent Card Co, Tiptree, Essex, UK, D Boden Typesetting also of Tiptree and Bizzybee Bookbinders, Malden it lasts about 20 minutes and shows the full production process of a 24-page letterpress booklet.

The typesetters have a couple of linecasters (with many magazines), Ludlow, foundry type, etc. At the printers we see a Miele Vertical and a Heidelberg windmill.

There is a large collating/stitching machine at the binders.

My guess is that all these businesses will now have been put out of business by the advance of technology, and that the writing was on the wall when this film was made.

It would be nice to be proved wrong though, if anyone knows anything different.
