Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Mechanic

The Christian Science Monitor 50th anniversary.

A day in the life of a global news organization in 1958 - long before the Internet. Reporters sent stories via telex, and papers were printed using linotype machines and lead plates.

This is more or less a trip down memory lane for those of us that grew up with hot metal and letterpress printing. The four YouTube videos are sequential covering all aspects of a days production of The Christian Science Monitor in 1958. The first two cover newsgathering etc. The last two cover the production and distribution aspects of the paper.
