Reported by Steve Cole on FB:

Sad to report that another Linotype veteran has passed away.

Ray Loomis was a longtime volunteer at the Baltimore Museum Of Industry, where he kept a Model 8 running to amaze visitors for years. He was featured in the 2012 documentary "Linotype: The Film."

Ray died in his sleep on Sept. 10 at a local hospital, per his family.

I'll post details here on plans to remember Ray as they become available.

Sad news and a loss to the community in general. Often when I was asked, by interested people, how the Linotype worked I would refer them to Ray's video demonstrations.
