Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Dave Hughes

I've posted a couple of these previously. Drawings of Linotype machines where the artist has messed up!

Here's a picture from the 1950s or 60s where the artist has messed up on the details of the Linotype.

The front of the machine looks OK but the position of the distributor bar compared to the magazines seems way off!

Also, the iron hand press seems a little out of place!

Anyone got other examples?

He has not done too well with the iron press either.....you can quite clearly see the woodwork of the composing frame where the framework of the press should be.

Take a look at the frisket fingers on a press featured on the 50 Lev note from Bulgaria in 1992

The press on the Bulgarian bank note was clearly assembled in the dark, all the parts seem to be there but all in the wrong places!

Not exactly Linotypes, but they look like typesetting machines of some sort.

What do we think of these?
