Mergenthaler Round Base Linotype

Mechanic

In 1898 Mergenthaler manufactured the Round Base Linotype. It offered no features from the operators point of view to speak of and technically was not well supported.

The Comet Linotype introduced in the 1950's would appear to have a lot in common with this machine.
