You can Now Change the Forum Font Size
Some of you may have noticed that the Forum's font changed last week. It is now Webfont Inter. I believe that it has improved legibility, but I am aware that such things are subjective, and welcome your views on the matter. Please reply to this post with your comments and observations.
One advantage of this change is that registered members can now change the font size to suit their needs. It is a simple process and only needs to be done once. Visit this thread to find out how.
Re: Linotype Europa
I have been contacted by Büsy Lingg, from Switzerland, who is pictured here operating a Linotype Europa:

Re: What Type of Press Printed This?
Franz - Thank you! I will try to locate the book you suggest. These stamps were absolutely printed one by one as I have sheets (originally they were printed four across and then five across) that show never repeating location of the imprints. See link to my collection here:

Re: What Type of Press Printed This?
Richard, there is a book which I have on my to read list, maybe you can find some background there:

Re: What Type of Press Printed This?
Dave, Thank you! The central dragon rectangle seems to have been a woodblock as it wore down very rapidly. The English and Chinese fonts were metal of a type in use for newspapers of the era. I can visualize the forme that held it all together with set screws at the top and side but the prints made are too clear to have been a simple handstamp. Any ideas welcome.

Re: Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II
Thanks for that George. Timely and interesting. I had heard of the Penrose Annual before, but wasn't sure what it was!

What Type of Press Printed This?
Richard Frajola got in touch with the following query:

Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II
I thought this was worth sharing:

Re: Production of The Times, 1942 - video
It's good to see standards being upheld and ties were still being worn by many trades and working folk generally. No wonder the war was won.

Re: Linotype part # H-2484 wanted
Intertype parts are now gone and I do have two of these parts, new, if you still need one, let me know.

Northcliffe House, 1980s
A great batch of photos, sent in by Ken Fremlington, taken at Northcliffe House (home of the UK's "Daily Mail" newspaper). Mainly taken in the stereotype department, but "new technology" rears its ugly head with a picture of a polymer platemaker!
