Cleaning rust off using molasses ( Black strap molasses in North America)
Mix the molasses at a rate of 1 part molasses to 9 parts water. Mix enough to cover the object that you're cleaning entirely.

This is the method that was used to clean a lot of the rust off the Intertyp C4, Including the distributer.
