Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

I gained work experience as a teenage gopher in a Queensland country newspaper (The Downs Star) in the 1950s so my memories of the finer points of hot metal technology are pretty hazy. I used to get the lunches on my bike.

I recently attending a printing exhibition in Sydney out of idle curiosity and was blown away by how the technology has moved on.

It is important to keep the old memories alive but catching up on where the world of print is today probably means as much to the old timers as it does who are still in the industry. Some links

The industry has certainly changed massively. When I started in the 1970s William Caxton would have recognised what we were doing and been able to help out, but today the print industry seems to be at the fore-front of computer technology with new developments being made all the time.
