Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

I have recently been having a look through the Times (of London) Archive.

Free registration is required to browse the articles, and I've found the system for downloading the pages, etc. a little "buggy" but worth persisting with.

When you manage to download a page, you get a huge (3.5 meg) picture file of the whole (broadsheet) page.

Here's an article I download, dating back to the 1880s, extolling the virtues of the brand-new Linotype machine:



The site is fairly new to the internet, so I might leave it a while to see if they iron out the bugs before giving it a thorough search.

Meanwhile, if anyone else has success downloading interesting pages, let me know.
