The following URL displays a photo of the Model X, which is a modified Linotype.
I see a couple of Intertype modifications. The second elevator transfer adjustable guide post and the Intertype knife block.

I can see I'm going to have to add these models to the Intertype Models section of the main site.

I wonder if the same happened in reverse? I.e. Linotype taking in old Intertype and modifying them?

I think that any Intertype that Mergenthaler got their hands on would be headed for the scrapyard.  In the 13 years I worked for Linotype I never saw an Intertype. The Sydney Morning Herald had, out of 120 machines, one hot metal Intertype. They also had an Intertype Fotosetter.
