Updating the stockmarket prices. Caption said that this man had been doing it for over 15 years. He looks quite content with the little "niche" he made for himself!

The complexity of the process, including the complexity of the typesetting machines themselves, makes one wonder how it managed to deliver its product, day after day given the need to deliver news quickly (preferably accurately) after the events being recorded. And all without a computer to be seen. Just lots of paper. How embarrassing it would be if the announcement that peace had broken out was overlooked and finished on the floor somewhere.

Is there any activity which competes for complexity and timely product delivery and distribution?

There's nothing that springs to my mind listohan.
