I always thought that Linotypes manufactured in England, unless imported, were made by Linotype & Machinery. It would appear that was not the case, as can be seen in this ad.

Is it possible the L&ML had not yet been established?
That's a very old ad, probably circa 190x judging by the Golden Type (William Morris) typographic choice.

Linotype & Machinery Limited was established in 1903, and the Altrincham factory was originally established by The Machinery Trust.

Linotype Jubilee typeface, designed by Walter Tracy, was so named because it was released during the 50th anniversary year of L&M Ltd.
