Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Dave Hughes

This video has been around for a while, but I only came across it recently, and very much enjoyed it.

Doug Wilson, of "Linotype: The Film" fame, takes an in-depth look at this UK Guardian newspaper 1977 April Fools' Day feature.

There has been an article about this prank on the main site for some time: The Island of San Serriffe but as you would expect from Doug, this illustrated talk takes a detailed look at it, including some of the advertisements that played along with the deception.

I also think Doug's Linotype matrix tie-pin deserves a mention!  8)
