vynález hlubotisku  =  invented intaglio printing
1890 - 125 výročí - 2015  =  1890 - 125 anniversary - 2015

Karel Klič, Czech graphic artist and printer who in 1878 invented the most precise and commercially successful method of photogravure printing.  The date of 1890 refers to when Klíč worked out and tested ways to improve and simplify the transfer of half-tones. His goal was to reproduce complex pictures, not a simple pattern. In Great Britain, in 1890, he finally achieved the desired effect, using wiper-blade photogravure, a printing method that remains unsurpassed to this day.
