I love this illustration of copies of the "Evening News" being delivered to a street vendor in the West End of London.

It takes me back to my youth, when I lived in the capital.

Excellent illustration by Ron Embleton (from The Story of Newspapers).
Interesting fact; Embleton contributed to two Gerry Anderson TV series' - he did the artwork used in the closing credits of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and also designed the logo for Stingray.

Those vans had black rubber front fenders and needed them!!  Screeching round a roundabout and throwing the bundle to a waiting news-vendor, no stopping at all!!!  Stand well clear!!!
