Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Mechanic

My son was thinking of buying his wife a Kindle for Christmas. I thought what in the hell is a Kindle?

I have since found out that a  Kindle is an electronic device for downloading, storing, and reading electronic books, known as eBooks. It was developed by a company called Lab 126 which is a subsidiary of Amazon.

However, a project called  Project Gutenberg predates eBooks. It was started in 1971 by Michael Hart, who  decided that it would be a really good idea if lots of famous and important texts were freely available to everyone in the world. Now Project Gutenberg  is also making these books available as eBooks. Even though Gutenberg's method of producing printed text is long gone at least his name lives on.

More information on Project Gutenberg is available on the web site below
