Three photos courtesy of the Preston Digital Archive (Flickr) of the Lancashire Daily/Evening Post, Preston, Lancashire UK composing room, The first image shows stonehand, Frank Green, checking a page and dates from the early 1960s and the two general images date from the 1920s/30s.

I was an apprentice compositor at the LEP in the early 1970s and the composing room had hardly changed from the scenes below 40 years before.
