I am currently working on an article about the British-made Linotype 794.

Dave it looks very much like the American Comet Linotype

This is a photo, taken at an exhibition in Ottawa, Canada in 1960.

That's me on the left. At the time this was taken I was working for Canadian Linotype as an engineer.

It is an international group, I'm an Australian, Bob, a Linotype sales rep. in the middle is French Canadian and John, the other engineer on the right is a Dutchman

What a shame it never got into production. A much more mechanically orientated machine than the Elektron and probably more reliable. I would have loved to have seen a video of the machine operating.
