Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Sheep

Hi there people! I'm looking for help on locating digital scans of:

  • The Monotype Recorder, Eric Gill: the continuing tradition, new series no.8, Redhill: The Monotype Corporation, Autumn 1990
  • The Monotype Recorder, one hundred years of type making, 1897–1997, Redhill: The Monotype Corporation, 1997
  • The Monotype Recorder XI: Robin Nicholas

I want to read the articles by David Saunders from the first too, and I'm rather interested in the whole issue for the last one.
Also, I'm aware that Metaltype has The Monotype Recorder issues online as pdfs, I just don't know if these issues are included there, and since getting access to the pdf library costs some pounds I wanted to make sure first.
Thanks for reading.

Hi @Sheep and welcome to the Forum.

The 60+ issues of the Monotype Recorder available for download from this site cover the period from the 1920s to the 1960s.

Each one has a picture of the cover and a brief synopsis of the articles in that issue displayed before payment is requested.

The first two that you mention are from the 1990s and are definitely NOT included in the collection. I'm unsure about the third one, do you know the year it was published?

I hope someone else will ne able to help you.

Hi Dave, thanks for replying. The third one was released in 2012, for Robin Nicholas retirement from Monotype.

The ones on Metal Type are much earlier, but I'll make sure your first post goes out in the next newsletter. Someone may have them.
