Monotype Caster - Wrong Characters Being Cast

Hi all, 

I am currently working on a monotype caster that is producing good quality type. However, it appears the caster is producing the wrong characters. I need your expert help & advice. I have everything correct from the keyboard's point of view - correct keybars, stopbar and justifying scale matched to the matrix case and wedge. When I use the ruler to identify the punches, the punch codes match those of the matrix case. So, I am certain the issue lies with the caster. 

There's 3 of us trying to figure this out here in Dublin, two retired compositors and myself, a 29year old hot metal enthusiast. I've been doing letterpress for the past 8 years, and the lads here have been training me up in hot metal for the past two years now. We've got a Linotype and Ludlow, but we are just short of having a working Monotype caster. I've gained a fair bit of knowledge on the keyboard, however, the caster had been unused for a couple of years before we came along and although we have it producing good quality type, we are at a loss because we aren't sure why the machine is producing wrong characters.

We're hoping someone out there might have some tips / advice to share on resolving this issue.
