Online Books From HathiTrust

Over the past few weeks I have posted a couple of read online books from HathiTrust. To quote the aims of the Trust:-

The site is very easy to use. Many of the books can be read on line, but if you wish to download a publication you have to create a log on account.  You can down load a single page without logging in. Following is a list of publications I  think might be of interest to members and guests of Metal Type.

The Mechanism of the Linotype :
Finding this book was a real trip down memory lane for me. An old Linotype operator, Jack Mitchell, gave me this book in 1948 when I first started my apprenticeship as a Linotype mechanic. He told me that this book would show me how the Linotype worked and that brute force and stupidity was not the only requirement to fix the machines. Unfortunately the book got lost some where along the way.
