Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Here is another interesting artwork depicting Mergenthaler and his Linotype. But I doubt if the artist, Edward Laning, had ever seen a picture of Mergenthaler or his Linotype.
Mergenthaler appears to be leaning on the Linotype keyboard. Oh dear!
The painting is located on the third floor of the New York Public Library.

Nice one George, the machine does appear to be of the "Blower" type - I would guess he was supplied with a picture of the machine and the man but combined the two in an unfortunate way.

At least he didn't have Mergenthaler dipping his finger into the metal pot to test the temperature!
