Issued on 26 June 2015 for the 175th anniversary of the penny black stamp                     (Sierra Leone)



Although this issue was authorized by the Sierra Leone postal administration, it was not sold in Sierra Leone, but only distributed by the Sierra Leone philatelic agency Stamperija for distribution onto the philatelic market. This item was excessively produced making it of little to no philatelic value.

'Issued on 26 June 1893 to commemorate 400 years of printing in Montenegro, the Principality of Montenegro did not miss the opportunity to celebrate this important event, and issued a commemorative series of stamps. Specifically, this release consisted of the preceding regular issues which were overprinted in Cetinje with: "Printing House Anniversary 1493-1893".'

At the end of the Second World War, Yugoslav forces occupied part of the Istrian peninsula around Trieste. While the political map was negotiated the area was divided into two parts, Zone A occupied by the Allies and Zone B by Yugoslav forces. Zone B first issued stamps in May 1948.
This one was issued on 6 February 1953

(Overprint means "Military Administration Yugoslav Army, Free Territory of Trieste.")

Many countries have issued stamps showing government printing works and stamp printing works, usually with an image of the building concerned.......post 198 on page 14 being an example....but not Japan.

Issued on 1 November 1971 to celebrate the Centenary of Government Printing Works.
