Elrodfk a member of Metal Type, wrote of his friend Dave Young who is a volunteer at the Amberley Museum, and what a great Linotype mechanic he is. http://www.metaltype.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,765.msg1724.html#msg1724

QuoteIn 2009 the Linotype was given to Amberley Museum by The Printing House Museum in Cockermouth. However, before it reached its destination at Amberley it ended up submerged under 8ft of water in a Cumbrian market town! When it eventually arrived at the Museum last year it was covered in a thick layer of silt. After an 18 month labour of love John Spurgin, David Young, Andrew Douglass, Terry Workman and the dedicated team of print shop volunteers at Amberley successfully breathed life back into the Linotype

Let's keep our fingers crossed that the Amberley Museum was not affected by the recent heavy flooding in the south of England.
