In hot metal or cold type, Mergenthaler offers the most efficient and economical means of obtaining fine typography. Since Ottmar Mergenthaler’s historic invention of the Linotype in 1886, the Linotype Company has been the acknowledged leader in the development of the modern, high-speed linecasting machine.
